It's not the first time Polanski struggles with an ending.However, the picture is so well- constructed that i cannot keep bitching about it.
It's a true horror story. Not Halloween kind, rather psychological suffer, truly hauntingly beautiful. Very rosemary vibe. Great job

A truly kafkaesque film. Dark, confusing, intriguing, true Polanski
First half is almost perfect. The universe created is creepy, coherent and veracious. The kind of movie that makes you love cinema.
While most critics call this movie Kafkaesque, I think it is better positioned within surreal horror films. Still excellent.

After a tragic event happens, composer John Russell moves to Seattle to try to overcome it and build a new and peaceful life in a lonely big house that has been uninhabited for many years. But, soon after, the obscure history of such an old mansion and his own past begin to haunt him.
