Great performance from boris karloff he carries this movie
Not as iconic as Frankenstein, but Karloff is great as usual. Awkward that tradition of casting British actors as Egyptians begins here.
I loved this early rendition of the mummy. The acting was fun and the atmosphere of the film was great. It's a good classic to watch.
Unlike the 90's remake, I couldn't help but cheer for Imhotep. Karloff's stare is iconic... my second favourite of the Universal monsters.

An ancient Egyptian priest named Imhotep is revived when a British archaeological expedition finds his mummy and one of the researchers accidentally reads an ancient life-giving spell. Imhotep escapes from the field site and searches for the reincarnation of the soul of his lover.
A couple of young, out-of-work archaeologists in Egypt discover evidence of the burial place of the ancient Egyptian princess Ananka. After receiving funding from an eccentric magician and his beautiful daughter, they set out into the desert only to be terrorized by a sinister high priest and the living mummy Kharis who are the guardians of Ananka’s tomb.
