This is a very slow movie but it's an art and so beautiful.
I can't say I have the patience for Hou's pace, but the film still has impact
I watched this when it hit screens and couldn’t get over how beautiful the colours were, reminded me of a modern Kurosawa
much more of a contemplative art film than an action film - think Crouching Tiger w/ a lot fewer fight scenes & even more beautiful visuals
Like a painting in motion, this film is lovely to watch. The story is there, but something just doesn't click.
