Aguirre, the Wrath of God
Adventure • 1972 • 1 hr 35 min
An exhilarating portrayal of the pursuit of power and riches, and the destruction it can bring. Acting and writing are both phenomenal.
Slow going at times, but once it wraps up you can feel the “I fucked up” coming off everyone, despite still being masked in delusory hope.
Slow but powerful. It's better if you know about the struggle it was to actually make.
one of herzog's famous collaborations with kinski, the visceral quality of this film shot in the jungles of peru is unique & will affect you
Absolutely great. I can't stress enough how beautiful this movie is, and the plot is also very interesting.
Let's just celebrate this production wich is an adventure by itself. Herzog was a true artist, we should applaude it.
On the slower side but unbelievable visuals
A movie that is very difficult to reproduce today about how ambition may corrupt not only a man but his environment
An movie that transcends movies. One of my all time favorites
The Kinski/Herzog films are all masterpieces. From the opening shot of the trek through the mountains this one is just jaw dropping gorgeous
