Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
Science Fiction • PG-13 • 2014 • 2 hr 10 min
The effects and characterization of the apes makes this one work. A bit too much foreshadowing makes it predictable. But still impressive.
Amazes me the amount of emotion and character we get from these apes
While this feels like a longer movie then it’s not predecessor, it feels as good as the first one, but with more of an evolution of the apes
I enjoyed the dynamics between the humans and apes and how each side of the conflict has their own estimates towards one other. Ravishing.
A bit too far into the fictional side for my taste but otherwise great
Admit it. It’s the best monkey movie. Great story, plot, acting, cgi, characters, action, fucken VILLAIN. Respect the cgi acting king Andy cricus
One of those films w a great concept but could of been better with execution
A very compelling special-effects driven film with some well done commentary. The action is intense & the motives are well established.
9/10 no James Franco which I was upset about but after about 3 minutes I totally forgot about it because this movie was great from the start
This continuation is a cinematic tour de force with excellent performances and a gritty atmosphere.
A highly intelligent chimpanzee named Caesar has been living a peaceful suburban life ever since he was born. But when he gets taken to a cruel primate facility, Caesar decides to revolt against those who have harmed him.
A group of scientists in San Francisco struggle to stay alive in the aftermath of a plague that is wiping out humanity, while Caesar tries to maintain dominance over his community of intelligent apes.
Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
Several generations in the future following Caesar's reign, apes are now the dominant species and live harmoniously while humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
