Was it needed? No. Did I enjoy it? Yes. It's Battlestar Galactica and I'm here for it.

Utterly brilliant sci-fi mystery show, Great characters and story a must see for sci-fi fans

It's good. Only fans will enjoy it though. It's not a good stand alone.

Battle star special- if you like the series you’ll like this

One of my favorite series, fits perfectly within canon

An oddity, tries to fill the gaps in the series. One for fans only.

Cylon A: I have a cunning plan that cannot fail. Cylon B: It involves an exceedingly large turnip, doesn't it?

Sets up the show very well.

After the success of the live 1957 Cinderella on CBS (with Julie Andrews), the network decided to produce another television version.
