A simple and heartfelt family movie. It might be cheesy a little bit but it's still good.
I'm surprised that there are much people who find this movie awful. It made me cry when I was a kid. Maybe I should watch it again ?

It was ok in some parts, but it’s just about a dog playing basketball. Not much plot there

Dumb, with little fun. Ridiculous story even for a children's movie. Poor kid that lost his roster spot to a golden retriever.
A classic. A sweet story about a boy and his dog with a bit of a twist. Absolutely love it. Highly recommend.
Of course it's cheesy movie where impossible things happen, it's made for kids! This and Home Alone shaped my childhood! Love it.
Well, it's a movie about a dog which plays basketball. I don't know what I was expecting...

12-year-old Jacob is an aspiring basketball player coping with the recent loss of his father. After he and his mother move to his dad’s childhood home in Fernfield, Jacob discovers a VHS tape of his old man playing basketball on the same court as a hoops-shooting golden retriever. Soon, Jacob begins his own adventure with a neglected golden retriever that he names Buddy.
