Compared to the original anime, this one follows the "true ending" route of the Visual Novel, and that route is just much better.

Not nearly as interesting or has as compelling characters as other fate seasons, littered with pointless battles and boring relationships

For an anime adapting a VN, this does a remarkable job. As an anime on its own, it’s still pretty damn great. The story is immaculate.
