Slow and contemplative, but oh so violent when it needs to be. Not a film for everybody, but definitely a unique experience
Mixed feelings. There’s some amazing imagery, great music, and and overall interesting story but it feels longer than it should be.
Being a viking movie I kept expecting something epic to happen. But much like the rest Refn's work, it's a cool mood piece, and that's fine.
If you like bare boned gritty and raw content, you’ll enjoy this one.
Refn drives the story with imagery as opposed to dialogue here. This movie is gritty and intense, not for everyone but I enjoy it.
A doom-filled medieval dream. It's almost purely driven by mood and atmosphere, so YMMV. My favourite of Refn's movies.
Violent and poetic, though maybe a little too much for its own good at points. Worth a watch just for Mads performance.
NWR never disappoints. Visceral and graphic violence sprinkled through a slow-burn story about aspirations and determination.
Visually amazing but light on story. The acting really carries you through the bleak, desolate landscape
an incredible film! the atmosphere, acting and cinematography are insanely good
