Overshadowed by the scene chewing in Lambs, but this film achieves an odd hypnotic vibe as it goes on that I quite liked as it's own thing.
Fantastic serial killer procedural that introduces Hannibal Lecter, lots of genre clichés served up in top notch fashion, def worth watching
Really good film. The main thing working against it is not a flaw in it but rather how iconic the following Silence of the Lambs is.
Not as good as SOTL but still good, the end scene is a little jumbly but the rest all works out well 7.3/10
Good tension. Good acting. Michael Mann shows he can do horror really well.
Unsettling thriller that has a unique, specific mood throughout. Great performances all around in this gripping film.
I love the style and the plot, my only grapple with this is that, we didn't get time to learn more about the killer, but very suspenseful.

The first Hannibal Lecter movie. While Cox is not Hopkins he is still admirably chilling. Overall on par with Red Dragon.
A great thriller from Michael Mann…definitely an 80s movie, from the clothes, to the cinematography to the score
