Has absolutely none of the 90s charm of the original it’s just a bland dull mess
If you go in expecting more of a violent film noir and less of an action movie, it’s pretty entertaining.
For big fans of this franchise it's part of the original package obvs'!
The best Universal Soldier movie! Cool action scenes and bizarre directorial choices sure make this stand out compared to the 90s cheese.

Barely remember the plot. Lots of blood and violence but no substance.
If you love Jean Claude Van Damme and his movies or you don't know him and still like action movies. Don't miss this one.

An American soldier who had been killed during the Vietnam War is revived 25 years later by the military as a semi-android, UniSols, a high-tech soldier of the future. After the failure of the initiative to erase all the soldier's memories, he begins to experience flashbacks that are forcing him to recall his past.
With the UniSol program budget cut by the government, a gang of mercenaries takes control of the new line of Universal Soldiers for their own nefarious ends. In doing so, they clash with Luc Deveraux, survivor of the first incident with the UniSols, alongside his long-lost and newly-resurrected brother Eric and reporter Veronica Roberts.
When reporter Veronica Roberts unwillingly gets involved in a hostage situation and is forced to escape, she and Luc Devereaux go into hiding. Meanwhile, Dr. Walker and Mentor get set with a powerful new Universal Soldier and a lethal plan.
Luc Deveraux, the heroic former Universal Soldier, is about to be thrown into action once again. When SETH, the supercomputer-controlled ultra-warrior, decides to take revenge and destroy its creators, only Luc can stop it. All hell breaks loose as Luc battles SETH and a deadly team of perfect soldiers in a struggle that pits man against machine and good against evil.
When terrorists threaten nuclear catastrophe at Chernobyl, the world's only hope is to reactivate decommissioned Universal Soldier Luc Deveraux. Rearmed and reprogrammed, Deveraux must take on his nemesis from the original Universal Soldier and a next-generation "UniSol" that seems almost unstoppable.
After his wife and daughter are murdered in a home invasion, a widower named John now finds himself up against an army of Universal Soldiers in relentless pursuit, led by a mysterious leader who promises to set UniSols free from their conditioning.
