The charisma of JT and Adams makes this baseball romance work. And the gritty drama from Eastwood and Goodman make the drama side work.
The is very underrated. The characters, story, and tone is all very well done. A feel good movie to watch anytime.

It was just too simple & understated. Everything was fine, but I wanted a much better film give all the talent involved. Timberlake is weak.

Jim Morris never made it out of the minor leagues before a shoulder injury ended his pitching career twelve years ago. Now a married-with-children high-school chemistry teacher and baseball coach in Texas, Jim's team makes a deal with him: if they win the district championship, Jim will try out with a major-league organization.
