Intense, engaging, powerfully acted and it went in some directions that I definitely didn’t expect. Great movie.

Claustrophobic masterpiece, thrilling, intense and shocking in equal measures with phenomenal performances by Hackman & Borgnine

A fun disaster movie, far before disaster movies became huge. Fun story, and very entertaining.

Do not see the terrible remake. The original delivers the goods. Easily the best disaster movie of the 1970s. Gene Hackman, action hero!

Cheesy and far fetched? Who cares. Fun, exciting, emotional and an all-star (at the time) cast.

Awesome disaster film is one of the best because it has a decent plot that doubles as an allegory. Hackman is a staggeringly good lead.

A groovy time until Mr. Magoo goes bottoms up. Not sure I would have listened to Hackman. Makes you want to stay dry.

I'm not a fan of disaster movies at all, but Shelley Winters made me watch this. It's alright I guess. What made this good was Shelley.

After "The Poseidon Adventure", in which the ship got flipped over by a tidal wave, the ship drifts bottom-up in the sea. While the passengers are still on board waiting to be rescued, two rivaling salvage parties enter the ship on search for money, gold and a small amount of plutonium.
