Before i knew about the books. Or lord of the rings. I watched this guy .
It’s a fairly faithful retelling of the Hobbit story and one more palatable than the more recent trilogy.
This is a great adaption staying true to the light-hearted adventure tone from the book. Really great, especially for the kids.
A truer telling of The Hobbit novel, and I love the animation. I prefer the character design to modern fantasy cliches.
Go watch Astrid comic movies instead. Unless you grew up with this exact movie.
An animated classic, the film is true not only to the events of the source material, but to its spirit of whimsical adventure.
All of the character designs are atrocious and the story is missing a lot of its beats. No one gets an arc and the story makes little sense.
I grew up with this movie. It's nostalgic, and it's better than its Return of the King counterpart, it's still too childish.
Fondly regarded for its simple musical numbers and hammed-up vocal performances, The Hobbit is a throwback to a more innocent time.
The music is nostalgic, but the transitions between segments of the journey is really abrupt. Fun for kids, eh for adults.
