Lovely style, but we spend too long watching one or two note characters.
This would have been brilliant in theatre. A bit slow at times, but the visuals, the story, the acting were amazing. True artwork.
Classic last line, amazing music, Greenaway's hyper-precise (clinical?) directing, all over a very dark parable.
I didn't quite get the point of this film, as the story does leave a lot to be desired!
Greenaway isn't a director, he's a painter using film as a canvas. And you wouldn't want it any other way. Pure perfection.
One of the best movies I’ve ever seen. Amazing visuals, incredible writing, great performances, and sumptuous score.
Complex shots and characters really flesh out this wild, sensual feast for the eyes. Lots of fun
Brilliant cinematography. Good story, great ending!
Dark humor and deep story about human and relationships
This movie was definitely ahead of it's time. Beautiful shots controversial plot and magnificent style
I only watched the beginning cuz it seemed really violent
An absolutely masterpiece in the art of contrast An incredibly dark and horrifying story with some of the most beautiful cinematography ever
Quirky and complex. Well worth watching.
It's hard to watch but you're not gonna regret it if you're a cinema and art lover. Its message also very deep. Totally one of my favorites.
A tale of passion, food, and forbidden love, this film combines beauty with a touch of surrealism to create an elegant work of art.
This movie makes me super uncomfortable. Yet, beyond the craziness and brutality, its visually mesmerizing and I absolutely love it for that
Bananas plot, and the most sumptuous visual smorgasbord (pardon the phrase)
Quite the trip this movie. Some very intense scenes but oh god does everything look fantastic. Not for the faint of heart but very memorable
Like watching a grotesquely beautiful painting come to life.
