The juxtaposition is amazing, especially with the music. Felt such angst for each veteran back in a changed world. A bit too long, though.
I can see how this beat It’s a Wonderful Life for best picture (though I don’t agree). This is a powerful film.
Loved the scene about the guy with double upper limb amputation
WWII servicemen nervously return to their homes and families. This is wonderful — full of hope and sorrow — but also overlong.
A fantastic look at what is was like for a lot of people coming back of the tragedies of war. Great performances from the three leads
I remember seeing this as a kid and being totally knocked out by the story. It's an absolute treat. Brilliant performance.
Some of the themes and scenes show it's age but for the time period it is a classic! Shows post-war life wonderfully.

Fifth Avenue socialite Irene Bullock needs a "forgotten man" to win a scavenger hunt, and no one is more forgotten than Godfrey Park, who resides in a dump by the East River. Irene hires Godfrey as a servant for her riotously unhinged family, to the chagrin of her spoiled sister, Cornelia, who tries her best to get Godfrey fired.
