This was so good! I was surprised at how much I liked it. Honestly made me want to read the book
Great mystery thriller movie from Hitchcock. Worth watching
It followed the book closer than expected, a touch slow, but loved the atmosphere of this film. It was consistent to the end!
More Hitchcock brilliance. A ghost story without the ghost. Joan Fontaine is perfect in this role. Laurence Oliver's not bad either.

Don’t expect the Psycho, Rear Window, Vertigo Hitch here. Good film, but it’s not quite as interesting as what Hitchcock would eventually do
Quality production full of good performances and attention to detail. Ending is weak, but partly bc everything leading up to it is strong.
I would call this slick, brooding thriller culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant.
