beautiful, idyllic (music is stellar) scene becomes infused with dread and the terror of the unknowable... it’s based on a true story too
I remember I liked it when i watched it.
I love the atmospheric horror that this movie has got going on. Definitely takes the watcher’s confusion and mystification and turns on them
An underrated, unerseen mystery thriller.
Hard to get invested as the characters have such weird affect. Film reluctant to dwell on events ostensibly at core of plot. Frustrating.
A perfectly elusive and mesmerizing enigma that lends itself to many interpretations
Really great story buried in a slow, plodding movie
The visuals and mood of impressionist painting meets the degenerative madness of a brush with cosmic horror.
"Ladies, ladies, no need to fight! There's enough R O C K to go around!"
Mystically beautiful film! Atmospheric and complex - a true masterpiece!
Quite mysterious, and never gives up its secrets. Is it a thriller? A crime drama? Mystery? Science fiction?
Mysterious, eerie and creepy. I live near Hanging Rock, so it’s always fantastic to revisit the rock and the story associated.
A good 70s film, but too slow for today standards
Strangely beautiful tone, style, and soundtrack. A mystery best left unsolved.
The slow pace fails to achieve the mystery that was supposed to be.
Proof that the unknown can be just as, if not more, interesting as having answers. Visually hypnotic and unsettling, it sticks to your brain
Beautiful but boring. The Amazon Original remake is so much better.
A good mystery and great atmosphere fit in remarkably well with a period piece. Can drag at times and has one endlessly annoying character.
Beautifully shot slow paced classic horror.
A strange an beautiful film in the same vein as Altman's 3 Women or Lynch's Mulholland Drive
