Weird Japanese expressionist horror film.
A masterpiece. The movie really grows on you. Very brutal and atmosperic
A well-made Japanese horror movie that teaches us that if you cheat on your dead husband, a cursed demon will haunt you forever 😁
Weird, hypnotic and striking. It’s not for everyone but the story is simple and plays out in a satisfying way, it’s worth giving it a shot.
Good moving but nothing that was standing out from other movies
Incredibly claustrophobic and intimate. The low camera angles in the tall grass conveys the low social status of the characters. Good film.
Tall grass has never been more haunting. A fairytale of jealously and war, Onibaba is an intense ride. That mask will be glued in my mind
Normally I’m not a stickler about genre classifications, but horror? If so, any classic film depicting feudal Japan is supposedly scary.
This is the movie to show to someone if they’re crossing serious boundaries and manipulating you. Sends a message.
Classic Japanese horror. Love the story as it looks like a fairytale of some sort and overall very good piece of cinema

Dr. Génessier is riddled with guilt after an accident that he caused disfigures the face of his daughter, the once beautiful Christiane, who outsiders believe is dead. Dr. Génessier, along with accomplice and laboratory assistant Louise, kidnaps young women and brings them to the Génessier mansion. After rendering his victims unconscious, Dr. Génessier removes their faces and attempts to graft them on to Christiane's.
