Great effort from Martin Scorsese. You can see how he matches shots with music that would define his direction for the next 50 years
I found a lot confusing and, sometimes, tedious. But I like the way the movie captures the atmosphere and culture of New York mafia.
A raw, New York amateur gangster hangout film from the master of the genre. May not be his best but that’s not a bad thing.

So long since I've seen this. I don't remember it being exceptional, but Scorsese was impressive even back then.
