Not bad, but definitely not as fun as either the original nor the subsequent remake - much darker, both tonally and visually (unfortunately)
Despite what people say I love both this movie and the sequel. I enjoy Rob Zombies more realistic and gory take on the character
Not terrible reboot at all, better kills, better gore, and somewhat better character development especially with Samuel in particular
It was a pretty decent remake, from a unique vision that we haven't seen from a Halloween film before! Rob Zombie definitely made it his own
I love this reinterpretation of the original classic. ZOMBIE is a polarizing filmmaker, but he had a vision and I think it worked
Like the psychological aspects/backstory, but again, why do we have to make horror films degrading to women?
Crazy. Darker version of the original with a more focused back story
Not as bad as everyone says. I appreciate it as a horror film. It's not polished in any way but that's why I like it.
Rob Zombie's twisted tale of Michael Meyers is a must see for horror fans who like grit and darkness. Excellent reboot
A decent reboot that adds a lot of misogyny and meanness that I’m not sure really do anything for the franchise. The backstory does nothing.

In the year 2455, Old Earth is now a contaminated planet abandoned for centuries -- a brown world of violent storms, toxic landmasses and poisonous seas. Yet humans have returned to the deadly place that they once fled, not to live, but to research the ancient, rusting artifacts of the long-gone civilizations. But it's not the harmful environment that could prove fatal to the intrepid, young explorers who have just landed on Old Earth. For them, it's Friday the 13th, and Jason lives!
After picking up a traumatized young hitchhiker, five friends find themselves stalked and hunted by a chainsaw-wielding killer and his family of equally psychopathic killers.
After failing to kill stubborn survivor Laurie and taking a bullet or six from former psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis, Michael Myers has followed Laurie to the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where she's been admitted for Myers' attempt on her life. The institution proves to be particularly suited to serial killers, however, as Myers cuts, stabs and slashes his way through hospital staff to reach his favorite victim.
Reality programmers at DangerTainment select a group of thrill-seeking teenagers to spend one night in the childhood home of serial killer Michael Myers. Their planned live broadcast turns deadly when Michael decides to crash the party.
A group of young adults visit a boarded up campsite named Crystal Lake where they soon encounter the mysterious Jason Voorhees and his deadly intentions.
Two decades after surviving a massacre on October 31, 1978, former baby sitter Laurie Strode finds herself hunted by persistent knife-wielder Michael Myers. Laurie now lives in Northern California under an assumed name, where she works as the headmistress of a private school. But it's not far enough to escape Myers, who soon discovers her whereabouts. As Halloween descends upon Laurie's peaceful community, a feeling of dread weighs upon her -- with good reason.
Ten years after his original massacre, the invalid Michael Myers awakens on Halloween Eve and returns to Haddonfield to kill his seven-year-old niece.
