An intellectual, animated classic. Deals with topics that are just as interesting and thought provoking now as they were 20 years ago.

What is it to be human? Not an original question for sure, but it’s handled well and with great character development in this anime classic!

AKA Boob Runner. Utilizes beautiful and disturbing visuals to convey its points about the core of humanity louder than words ever could.

A complex and thoughtful masterpiece of animation. Every shot is carefully made to burst with energy and beauty.

A mind-bending classic and essential cyberpunk piece.

You have to pay attention, but there's a rewarding story and interesting themes explored if you do.

Complex and stylized. This is a film that will need re-watching to catch all of the ideas and messages.

Raised the bar on anime movie cinematography after Akira set it. I wasn't watching a sci-fi anime, I was watching art.

A surreal, breathtaking film about what it means to be human. Very confusing, though.

Even if you're not into anime, there's a lot to enjoy here.

The year is 2071.
