God, I love this movie so much. Can't describe it other than beautiful. If you're reading this, so and watch Hana-Bi instead.

Brutal yet charming, then it hits you real hard
Takeshi Kitano is a genius, Hana-bi (Fireworks) is not only well written and directed by him but also acted, he barely needs to speak!

The more I think about this movie, the more I feel like it is actually great. Slow, not wordy, but surely touching.
A beautifully atmospheric and elegant film to watch, that every now and then jumpscares you with blasts of yakuza violence and dark humour.
Absolute gem. A wonderfully violent story of a policeman calmly spiraling down into his own demise. Visuals are absolutely stunning.

A drug cartel boss is arrested in a raid and coerced into betraying his former accomplices as part of an undercover operation.
