Beautifully sad lyrical film about love, death and revenge.
A quiet, reflective & intimate take on Yakuza Life....& Death. My absolute favorite of Beat Takahashi! This film is a beautiful tragic poem.
Spurts of crazy violence and solid acting make for a fun, unpredictable yakuza story
Dream like and beautifully haunting at times requires multiple views
Just pay attention. Every character in this movie has a unique personality. The scent of his friend dies in front of him, will never forget.
Meditative images of Japan early 90s contrasted with some bold maffia action. Loved it.
A bunch of yakuza went to the beach, played children's games, discovered existential dread, and ruined my week.
if you have ever wondered how a gangster movie can be therapeutic then this movie will answer that
This film is absolutely incredible. Breathtaking, thoughtful, fun, violent, intriguing, artistic... I could go on and on. MASTERPIECE
Found the characters too plastic and story line a bit confusing at times. If this one didn't cut it for you, definitely check "Hanabi"
