Vince Vaughn shows some serious range as a man driven to the brink in this violent and brutal grindhouse prison movie.
Brutal and bleak, but absolutely amazing
Blown away by Vaughn in this. Some of the most viscerally violent sound editing I’ve ever heard from a film and brutal images to match.

It was very interesting to see Vaughn in a role like this but I think he did well for the most part.

Came for Vince Vaughan taking on a serious role, stayed for his brutal portrayal of the character and the following violence, very good!
Zahler has a relationship and a way with brutally realistic and random violence that no other modern filmmaker does. Grindhouse-like.
Violence in the name of innocence. The whole movie I’m thinking, “sure he saves his family, but how does he save himself?”
