This film aged very well, Mickey Rourkes best movie aside from the wrestler. Also pretty sure Oldboy stole one of its main plot points.
Crazy character and performance from De Niro. A real dark, atmospheric noir that keeps you hooked the whole time
One word to describe this film: odd. But I mean that in the best possible way.
Loved it so much I read the book afterwards. Soundtrack is also 10/10. Rourke and DeNiro are unreal.
Great movie. But it's pretty dark with some gruesome scenes.
Rourke is solid, and the film looks and sounds pretty excellent. EXTREME predicability from the twisty plot holds it back from greatness.
A detective story with distinctive atmosphere. Violence and sex escalate the dark and occult themes.
Captivating mystery thriller, worth a watch
Too out there for me. Rourke did okay in the noir vibe and New Orleans was a cool backdrop. De Niro gave me the ick. Bonet was something.
Too slow and long. Decent twist. Solid acting by Rourke.
