User Reviews
Unfairly maligned by many, but a sincere, earnest, and far more faithful take on the Stephen King classic
It’s Stephen King’s Shining, not Kubrick’s. While I liked the greater depth and detail, it doesn’t beat the film.
I can't understand why they thought this adaptation was necessary. Maybe faithful to the book, but scary just because of how bad it is.
If only it wasn't hampered by having to be rated for TV, it could've been great. Steven Weber nails the warring conscience of Jack Torrance
It’s more faithful to the book, but no faithful adaptation can top the vision of Stanley Kubrick.
A decent retelling of the book. But has lost some of the suspense and all the terror in visual format
A slower take on the Stephen King book. That’s more faithful to it.
While it lacks the scares and atmosphere of Kubrick’s is still entertaining enough
Much closer to King's novel. So far away from being any good.
Not Stanley Kubrick's. A little cheesy. But enjoyable
