Police unit the old fashioned way: bashing heads. Happily they don't go after immigrants & don't wear masks. But 'badass' gets tiresome.
Shakey 1st few episodes becomes best cop show ever. Almost Shakespearian story arc. Walton Goggins is SO good, he should have emmys 4 S6&7.
Shows its age in some places but still a seminal show in the prestige drama antihero genre
Parts are outdated now & the edgelord vibes do get cringy, but the acting is usually great (CCH Pounder!) & the latter seasons pack a punch!
What was probably revolutionary at the time feels a little dated and hokey now. Walton Goggins and CCH Pounder rule though, son.
very immersive, philosophical, well shot and well acted.
The Shield is a brilliant and gripping drama!
An amazing show about corrupt cops, great performances all round
Without this show, FX would never be relevant
Most underrated TV show of all time! Seriously! If you like the sopranos or snowfall or the wire you will love this show!
