Becker is a dedicated, outspoken and talented doctor with a gruff exterior. While he tends to offend those who try to get close to him, he is extremely dedicated to his medical practice in the Bronx, N.Y., where he always goes the extra mile to help those in need. But Dr. John Becker looks at the world around him and sees a society gone mad, full of incongruities and just plain wrong thinking. And he has no qualms about saying anything that comes to mind – anything.

Dr. House before Dr. House. Maybe more of a Dr. Cox type character. It was a good sitcom growing up.
Underrated sitcom. Ted Danson can do no wrong and the supporting cast delivers
Decent show good when you need something different.
Basically the sitcom predecessor to "House M.D.". Great comedy.
Competent comedy about a NYC doctor that cares more about his odd patients than money. Remember those days? I don't either.
Watched this when it was on and I really enjoyed it. Got a lot a laughs out of it.
I didn't watch a lot of this but it was great whenever it came on. Very funny and original for a sitcom.
Didn't last long, actors came from, and went on to better things but funny enough.
Ted Danson is surprisingly good as the grumpy Dr Becker
pretty average sitcom, I <3 Shawnee Smith
