Goodhearted individual manipulated by opportunistic; humorous, serious, well acted, brilliant
Incredibly well acted and directed. Maybe a bit too slow but I got lost watching what felt like a real family interacting with each other
Controversy aside, I felt it was too long, too slow and once she’d been arrested she did the same whimpering act for another hour.
Sad, dpressing, not too didactic regarding the subject
A wonderful film which has an unmistakable, determined and just drive coursing through it.

A tough subject to talk about but this movie is important enough to see
Imelda Staunton is heartbreaking in one of Mike Leigh’s very best films.
Tbh, just meh, it’s not bad, but it isnt very captivating either.
Really slow dialogue in parts which can get frustrating but it really is a brilliant British film with an incredible lead actress.

A gambler and a prostitute become thriving business partners in a remote Old West mining town until a large corporation arrives on the scene.
On the way to meet with an independent artist in the South, newlywed art dealer Madeleine is convinced by her husband, George, that they should stop to meet his family in North Carolina. Madeleine's affluent lifestyle clashes with the family, but she befriends George's wide-eyed and pregnant sister-in-law, Ashley, who is nearing her due date.
