Films as old as Vampyr that can still captivate have become timeless. There is a keenness about this film that can not be challenged.

Feels like a david lynch and wes Anderson collaboration from 1932

If David Lynch made a 1930s horror film it would be like this. A nearly silent film with nightmarish, bizarre imagery. Worth another watch.

A classic for a reason. Slow for most people today but quite a few visually stunning pieces

One of the most creatively made films ever. Incredible imagery, an abstract plot, probably the best horror film ever and a masterpiece
Ryan GOSLING

Really slow and full of visuals that are uninteresting. They say it's a classic but I don't see how people 100 years ago could've like this.

Visually beautiful and amazingly gothic.

It’s an awkward blend of silent and sound that dampened the flow of the story for me. Some incredible visuals undoubtedly & a dramatic end.
Jeffrey

Beautiful images, but the plot lacks substance, and we don’t get emotional investment in the characters.

This is an interesting film but it doesn’t hold up to something like Nosferatu.

Carnival of Souls
Mary Henry ends up the sole survivor of a fatal car accident through mysterious circumstances. Trying to put the incident behind her, she moves to Utah and takes a job as a church organist. But her fresh start is interrupted by visions of a fiendish man. As the visions begin to occur more frequently, Mary finds herself drawn to the deserted carnival on the outskirts of town. The strangely alluring carnival may hold the secret to her tragic past.
The Passion of Joan of Arc
A classic of the silent age, this film tells the story of the doomed but ultimately canonized 15th-century teenage warrior. On trial for claiming she'd spoken to God, Jeanne d'Arc is subjected to inhumane treatment and scare tactics at the hands of church court officials. Initially bullied into changing her story, Jeanne eventually opts for what she sees as the truth. Her punishment, a famously brutal execution, earns her perpetual martyrdom.
Peeping Tom
Loner Mark Lewis works at a film studio during the day and, at night, takes racy photographs of women. Also he's making a documentary on fear, which involves recording the reactions of victims as he murders them. He befriends Helen, the daughter of the family living in the apartment below his, and he tells her vaguely about the movie he is making.
Nosferatu the Vampyre
A real estate agent leaves behind his beautiful wife to go to Transylvania to visit the mysterious Count Dracula and formalize the purchase of a property in Wismar.
The Changeling
After a tragic event happens, composer John Russell moves to Seattle to try to overcome it and build a new and peaceful life in a lonely big house that has been uninhabited for many years. But, soon after, the obscure history of such an old mansion and his own past begin to haunt him.
Eyes Without a Face
Dr. Génessier is riddled with guilt after an accident that he caused disfigures the face of his daughter, the once beautiful Christiane, who outsiders believe is dead. Dr. Génessier, along with accomplice and laboratory assistant Louise, kidnaps young women and brings them to the Génessier mansion. After rendering his victims unconscious, Dr. Génessier removes their faces and attempts to graft them on to Christiane's.
Beauty and the Beast
The story of a gentle-hearted beast in love with a simple and beautiful girl. She is drawn to the repellent but strangely fascinating Beast, who tests her fidelity by giving her a key, telling her that if she doesn't return it to him by a specific time, he will die of grief. She is unable to return the key on time, but it is revealed that the Beast is the genuinely handsome one. A simple tale of tragic love that turns into a surreal vision of death, desire, and beauty.
Tenebre
A razor-wielding serial killer is on the loose, murdering those around Peter Neal, an American mystery author in Italy to promote his newest novel.
