Almost the antithesis of a western movie, but tackles the issues that westerns struggles against, and some superb acting.
This somewhat complex morality tale has excellent acting, but still has that clunky old Hollywood Western feeling.
Not your typical western. Essentially debate between old vs new as well as pro gun vs anti gun. Very well acted from all, even Wayne.

6 out of 10. I’m always hopeful I’ll love a western with a high rating. They’re usually so mid to me though. James Stewart was too old.
Mixes archetypal Westen with new plot/character elements, some even subversive to the genre. Stewart overacts a few scenes.
solid western with a good plot and star-studded cast, james stewart great as always.
As a fan of westerns, it is one I would call a must see
