A poor cash grab, Wes caved to studio pressure. A weak, short script padded out with flashbacks. A total bore & unnecessary.
If it felt as if Wes Craven wanted no part in the sequel, it’s because he didn’t. A daffy concept that wastes its returning protagonists.
I hope Craven didn’t spend it all in one place.
Another fairly sad sequel disconnected from the original except by the most stretched plot points.
The quality of Part II, in the context of the original, leaves a lot (a lot) to be desired…

Taking an ill-advised detour en-route to California, the Carter family soon run into trouble when their RV breaks down in the middle of the desert. Stranded, they find themselves at the mercy of monstrous cannibals lurking in the surrounding hills.
A motocross team on their way to trial a new super-fuel head out across the desert lead by Rachel, who, unbeknownst to the rest of the group, is a survivor of the cannibal clan which menaced the Carter family several years before.
