Upon viewing, it seemed the epitome of cheap bland modern horror movie. Maybe the premise was okay, but the execution was not.

A flat, cliche high school horror tale with horrible acting and an ill-executed found footage style.

It could've had potentials and well-done set pieces but it was just another generic found-footage flick that weakened the genre even more.

Cheap horror film filled with jump scares, however it is entertaining.

The Gallows is a found-footage nightmare that excels in atmosphere. Its simple setting and practical scares create a truly visceral chill.
