A novelnway to examine memory and make a documentary. It has a warm melancholy to it, which is why I love Sarah Polley’s films. Very good.
How often do you see the camera turned on the one making the documentary? Still think about this one years later.
Artfully filmed story of a family "secret"
Personal doc that is as open as Sarah wants it to be, which is very open. Not just about how memory is for individuals but about family too.
A one-of-kind doc about family secrets and the impact they can have. Very interesting twist to this one.

It wasn’t horrible but I didn’t see a reason why this needed to be made. It seems like a family issue that should be settled amongst them.
Why did Sarah choose this run-of-the-mill story, when the literally newsworthy story of her mother losing custody was available? Just OK.
