House Party is far from perfect but it remains an iconic classic with a groovy hip-hop style that gets more funny with its dated aesthetics.
Absolutely great. This movie had me laughing SO much. I would highly recommend this movie :)

Better than it should have been. Robin Harris was missed in the sequels.
When House Parties were just about dancing and genuinely having a good time. A staple movie for POC communities. Not excited for the remake.
It’s a fun watch that had loads of potential but it just emphasizes some parts too much or doesn’t emphasize others enough.Still a fun film!
Good film but it's dated immediately because of the style and music. Worth the watch for nostalgic value and the laughs

Young Kid has been invited to a party at his friend Play's house. But after a fight at school, Kid's father grounds him. None the less, Kid sneaks out when his father falls asleep. But Kid doesn't know that three of the thugs at school have decided to give him a lesson in behavior.

Jon Jon sees a ripe opportunity for a major party when he snags the job house-sitting for his rich Uncle Charles. The mansion comes with a platinum colored Mercedes-Benz 430. Which is said to be more than $100,000, and although Uncle Bilal has told him not to drive the car or have people over, Jon Jon wastes no time in doing both. But Uncle Charles vacation isn't going as planned, Charles is unaware that Jon Jon is not only having an "entertainment party", but he's auditioning his hip-hop band (IMx) for a record executive. When Jon Jon finds out his uncle is coming home earlier than announced, he has to race against time to try and put everything back the way he found it again.
Chris has it all worked out: he's ready to leave high school behind and head to college in his sweet new ride. The problem is, he'll be leaving behind his best friend and partner in rhyme, Dylan. And he still has to get with Autumn, the girl he's had a crush on since the second grade. The solution? Throw one last party where Chris and Dylan can show off their skills with words and women. But a little get-together becomes a hilariously epic disaster where anything can happen and anyone might turn up... including the original house partiers, Kid 'n Play.
