The film is 4 and 40mins and is very sympathetic to the CSA. The script is average but the film looks great. Perfect background film.
Slow Civil War burn…if you like this era of history you’ll prob like. If not, I would pass & watch other Civil War movies instead

Not as good as Gettysburg but have to give credit for the audacity of the scope
Just as good as Gettysburg, if not better. I've gotta say Robert Duvall is a better Gen. Lee than Martin Sheen
Underrated. But do yourself a favor and watch the Director’s Cut. It is so much better and completes the story.
I'm not against a long film but that was excessive. Really tries to push the Confederates-did-nothing-wrong narrative.

In the summer of 1863, General Robert E. Lee leads the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia into Gettysburg, Pennsylvania with the goal of marching through to Washington, D.C.
