The best movie I have ever seen - incredible story, acting, and a true example of expressionist filmmaking
this, along with a whole host of cyberpunk & Sci fi, looked at the philosophy of our existence. Great to get the grey matter ticking
Terrific psychological sci-fi idea and execution. We were late and crashed blindly into half the cinema finding a seat in pitch black dark.

This movie is stylistically my absolute favorite. The horror and sci fi elements fuse perfectly. Disturbing, stylized, dark and phenomenal.

Simon Phoenix, a violent criminal cryogenically frozen in 1996, escapes during a parole hearing in 2032 in the utopia of San Angeles. Police are incapable of dealing with his violent ways and turn to his captor, who had also been cryogenically frozen after being wrongfully accused of killing 30 innocent people while apprehending Phoenix.
In the future, crime is out of control and New York City's Manhattan is a maximum security prison. Grabbing a bargaining chip right out of the air, convicts bring down the President's plane in bad old Gotham.
