Quite simply the best adaptation of a comic book to film. Every performance is a brushstroke in this masterpiece. Beautiful, sad and true.
A well made blend of documentary/comic/and fiction. Paul Giamatti gives one of his finest performances
American Splendor is one of those films that gives you a warm fuzzy feeling afterwards but you're not sure why.
I’ve never experienced anything quite like it, visually. It’s trippy and amazing and, best of all, engaging. 
Superb biographical drama comedy, great characters and acting from Giamatti. Worth seeing
Paul Giamatti never lets me down as a sad sack character. I knew nothing of Harvey Pekkar before I saw this film. Dignity and passion exists

It’s different. The constant fourth wall breaks and the characters are the stand out of this movie for me at least
A very slow movie but captivating that it doesn’t even feel like a movie but an indepth ghost experience of watching this man’s life.

This movie chronicles the life and times of R. Crumb. Robert Crumb is the cartoonist/artist who drew Keep On Truckin', Fritz the Cat, and played a major pioneering role in the genesis of underground comix. Through interviews with his mother, two brothers, wife, ex-wife and ex-girlfriends, as well as selections from his vast quantity of graphic art, we are treated to a darkly comic ride through one man's subconscious mind.
