Fantastic war film. Never lets up and has your pulse pounding the whole time. You never feel the protagonist is safe. O’Connell is perfect
Definitely informative over something a lot of people around the world wouldnt know much about
A little too simple of a story, but overall very fun. The first half hour of this is amazing.
British soldier isolated in IRA territory. Desperate, distraught people & impoverished, immersive setting combine to suggest hell on Earth.
A soldier vs literal civilians should not be as gripping as this is. Provides an excellent view into a conflict I didn’t know much about.
I think this movie is really good and a fantastic performance by oconnell as a British soldier trapped and hunted by the ira in Belfast 🌠
One of the startlingly few films which takes audiences into the midst of the Irish Troubles, '71 searches for humanity in place of politics.
The pacing was a bit messy, but overall I liked it and Jack O Connell is an underrated actor
'71 starts really strong, you do feel like you're in the claustrophobic Irish alleys. But as the movie goes on it starts losing charm.
An interesting film about British in Northern Ireland.
