Very slow burn thriller but pretty good overall.
I still cannot believe Ansel full on learned Japanese for the role. Worth the watch for that alone.
Decent miniseries with intriguing plot and good character development, occasional gratuitous sensuality that adds no story value.
90s Tokyo, yakuza, cigarettes, Ken Watanabe. The first episodes dir by Michael Mann are the best. The rest are okay, but the cast saves it.

Everything is awesome in this movie until you hear a Japanese speaking English, incredible job Ansel.
I sang “I want it that way” recently in Osaka with couple of strangers while Tokyo Vice on my mind, yeah, good show
excellent show! so many great and likeable characters, awesome plot twists, interesting arcs and side stories that really add depth.
The film was well done, but I know Ansel and his family, who are from Brooklyn, so I laughed whenever he was on screen.
Amerita paciencia y tener ganas de apreciar la cultura de Japón de esos años. La actuación de Ansel es remarcable y comprometida.
