A good series with important lessons about our shocking historical past. It is slow at times but, the acting and directing is spot on.
You wont be able to escape this story and its history.. It will haunt you with its ingenious imagery and the histories of our ancestors
Jenkins was given too much freedom here. This and Too Old to Die Young are paced slower than any series I have ever seen. Read the book.
It’s just torture porn. It’s difficult to watch. The acting was good though but I could not finish it.
Beautiful lighting, cinematography & sound. Shameful necessary heartbreaking truth that needs told. Not an easy watch. Slowly uniquely told
It may be interesting for US history buffs but for an outsider it's just more of the same.
Completely overrated, uninteresting, & horrendously drawn out. The trite story could’ve & should’ve been wrapped up in 2 or 3 episodes 🥱
Represents really well how slavery was
