It's an outstanding successor to other shows in the space opera genre. Some of the humor is over-the-top, but the core of the show is great.

The spirit of “Star Trek: TNG” lives on in “The Orville” (with a big pinch of “Galaxy Quest”).
There's a good episode every once and a while. Decent acting, good writing on the whole.
Spiritual successor to The Next Generation, surprisingly good, if a little old-fashioned.
Both a great homage and parody of Star Trek, but a bit too much crude humor
If you are willing to look pass the cringe-worthy humor, The Orville turns out to be a good spirtual succesor to Star Trek.
All the spirit of Star Trek with none of the reverence. I love this show so hard.
A combination of Star Trek science fiction mixed with Seth MacFarlane family guy humor style. Light hearted comedy
It is sad when the best new Star Trek of recent years is this parody series. It is a good AciFi showing its own. Excellent stories & cameos
There's only a few good episodes.
I like the modern take on the Star Trek genre. Good stories, just the right amount of camp. The humor is a great addition
Pretty funny, but kinda feels like it's been done before.
I use to watch this weekly. It had a star trak , futurama feel.
S1: 7/10 S2: 8/10
This is what TNG would be like if it wasn't so 'glossy'. Sometimes the humour is a little OTT, but it also feels more 'real' than Trek.
I'm enjoying it.
Great action movie.
My guilty pleasure
