A look at a seemingly placid New England town that is actually wrought with illicit affairs, crime and tragedy, all told through the lens of Olive, whose wicked wit and harsh demeanor mask a warm but troubled heart and staunch moral center. The story spans 25 years and focuses on Olive's relationships with her husband, Henry, the good-hearted and kindly town pharmacist; their son, Christopher, who resents his mother's approach to parenting; and other members of their community.

Frances doing her normal peculiar small town wife role, and she does it good.
Complex plot, fascinating characters, tragicomic stories. Small town broken marriages, madness, bitterness, suicide. Not Andy Griffith.
V slow, bleak, slice-of-life style wont be for everyone, but it’s a well-made unflinching look at real life problems & has great lead acting
Slow pace but a masterclass in acting by Frances McDormand. She Carries the show until the very end even when it drags in the middle
3.7 not for everyone, written well. Really liked it
A small-town character study that’s sharp, heavy, and quietly fascinating—hard to watch at times, but even harder to look away from.
I love her! As an actress and as a character in the movie. So sincere in every moment, no sugarcoating.
Slow, depressing, and made me think about life, family, and mortality. Very Good. Almost amazing.
The acting holds this show
