Takes you inside the interrogation room, but also inside the lives Detectives in a way that no other show has done before or since.
The show that led up to The Wire anticipates some of the greatness David Simon would later aspire to. Gritty realist cop drama.
Probably my all-time favourite police procedural. Raw and gritty, brilliant writing. Terrific ensemble cast highlighted by Andre Braugher.
One of the few cop station shows I rate highly, owing mostly to the excellent base of fly on the wall research conducted by David Simon.
Don’t remember this much, other than it felt very “Law and Order”, but grittier.
Best TV series ever. Who's who of talent: Barry Levinson; Eric Overmeyer Paul Anastasio, Tom Fontana. Then there's the cast & writing, WoW!
kinda boring, couldn’t watch all seasons
Truly one of the best police shows of all time. Great cast, wonderful script and authentic to the bone. Love it!
Clever, gripping and way smarter than your average cop show. Makes you wish your life had more street-level drama.
Maybe the most underrated show of all time. Not only The Wire, but a bunch of other prestige dramas owe a great debt to this one.
