Boring and tried too hard to be something it was not.
You have to give the show credit for what it has done for LGBT visibility, but aside from that it's a pretty insipid sitcom.
Based on her stand up act. Should never have been cancelled.
Good for the interviews... But surprisingly dark after the scandal.
How this obnoxious woman got a show will always baffle me. She's never been funny or clever. The blandest person in Hollywood for sure.

Show had the worst jokes & comedy. When Ellen came out, it turned into a show with some harmless gay themes and even worse jokes & comedy.
Undeniably an important piece of television history. Take away the coming out episode though and this is kind of a boiler plate sitcom.
