Would have been way more interesting showing her reign from her younger years. As it stands it just shows an old woman hanging to her power.
If Mirren wasn’t so good at conveying power, this probably wouldn’t work. Clarke and the script are forgettable, but it succeeds overall.
Mirren portrays the Empress diligently. Forced me to learn some Russian history from before the 20th century.
I don't like Catherine,(brutiish on Turks and Crimeans) but Helen Mirren was wonderful portraying the Empress. Good cast.
I found this title not really interesting. After reading the back story on wiki, found out that some facts presented were not true.
So so much time of Filler when the story is full of much whatever you want to add, has it. That and believing Helen has 40 yo less
