Atlantic City at the dawn of Prohibition is a place where the rules don't apply. And the man who runs things -- legally and otherwise -- is the town's treasurer, Enoch "Nucky" Thompson, who is equal parts politician and gangster.

Occasionally drags on, but it’s good, trust in Steve Buscemi
Every single player in this series brought their A-game. Amazing storytelling
Not all of it is great but good show would definitely recommend to people that enjoy good HBO shows.

One of the best gangster shows ever made, but it's not going to be for you if you can't wait until the end of the season for the action.
Excellent period piece set during prohibition and the birth of Atlantic City
I love this show. I rewatch it every year. If you like gangsters, booze, and the 1930’s, this will do juuuust fine.
Great storytelling and character building
Starts strong, middle is a bit muddy, but the final bits more than make up for it with an exceptionally strong finish.
Wonderful series outlines just how politics and organised crime co-developed. Inspired me to read the Johnson book then Atlantic City film.
