This documentary chronicles the rise, fall, and rise again of the soft rock epitomized by artists such as Christopher Cross, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Steely Dan, and Toto in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Retroactively dubbed "Yacht Rock," the easy-listening genre came to be gently mocked and even dismissed by rock lovers and critics. However, it has since reclaimed its place in music history and is celebrated in this groove-infused film.

Loved this documentary. I knew that most of the 70’s music had all derived from the same core but never knew how far it went. Great watch
Great documentary on the subject, loved hearing all the music and the history of it
Just like Yacht Rock, this documentary is pleasant and inoffensive.
Was a bit bored at the start with millenial online videos (coined the term apparently) and Steely Dan stuff. But it got better after that.
Interesting how all of the acts are related. The humility of those interviewed regarding their music that is derided is impressive.
Perfectly pleasant. Not super deep, but it doesn’t need to be. Enjoyable even if you don’t care much for yacht rock.
This is fun. Steely Dan might not think so, but if you like this kind of music, you’re in for a good time.
Fun, toe tapping time with music. Info onay
Good if you’re into music docs or yacht rock
A pleasant trip down memory beach!
