Set during a sultry summer in a French suburb, Marie is desperate to join the local pool's synchronized swimming team, but is her interest solely for the sake of sport or for a chance to get close to Floriane, the bad girl of the team? Sciamma, and the two leads, capture the uncertainty of teenage sexuality with a sympathetic eye in this delicate drama of the angst of coming-of-age.

Rare to watch a actually excellent low budget film.
A coming of age story we don’t often see. A shy lesbian teen struggles with crushes and her budding sexuality. Intimate but still relatable.
Incredible story and one hell of a directorial debut
I was a little worried about the age of the girls during the filming, and then i learned that the director dated the protagonist? Nah.
Portrait of a Lady on Fire is my favorite movie, so I hoped I’d like Sciamma’s other films but this one just didn’t work for me at all
Conflicting because this is well made but while it feels authentic, it also feels exploitative
A stunning and heartfelt debut that captures all the confusion and pressure of navigating towards adulthood especially for young women.
Good coming of age lesbian romance, a mix of emotions navigating sexuality
Céline Sciamma’s talent bursting through her first feature
Interesting story, but the film is super slow
